About Good News Catechist Resources
"For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; if ministry, in ministering; if one is a teacher, in teaching; if one exhorts, in exhortation; if one contributes, in generosity; if one is over others, with diligence; if one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness." (Romans 12:4-8)
With a dedication to sharing knowledge, Good News Catechist Resources provides a space where educators can access materials for lessons. The site was inspired by the website founder's initiation into volunteer work as a catechist.
After spending many hours searching for material to supplement the parish's curriculum, the founder decided to create this clearinghouse of resources. Many websites charge for access which motivated the founder to develop free PowerPoint presentations for lessons. They help pace lessons while providing reminders of key points to cover. The presentations also allow for interaction with students either in person or remotely.
More material will be added. Currently, there are PowerPoint lessons, videos, a regularly updated blog, Kahoot games, list of recommended books and movies, favorite homilies, and links to other resources. They can be accessed by going to the main menu at top of pages for desktops or in the menu bars on the right corner of each page on devices.
